ENGINE DESIGN & REPAIR

Rationale: Enrolling in this course, you have made a commitment to furthering your technical training in the trade for personal use andfor the workplace. This course will provide an in-depth instruction of the gasoline engine, engine testing, engine rebuilding procedures, lubrication and cooling systems, minor tune-ups and alternate fuel engines and energy systems. The student will demonstrate the skill and competencies to identify components inspect, measure, disassembly and reassembly shop training engines to trade acceptable standards.

GIRLS CAR CARE

Rationale: The main intent of this course is to prepare female students for owning and
operating vehicles for personal daily life. Chances are your car will be your second largest
investment next to your home. Care for it properly and it will deliver the performance, lasting
value and enjoyment you need and expect. The course is designed for students who have little
previous mechanical knowledge and experience. The course will appeal to those who simply
wish to learn how to service and care for their vehicle and avoid costly repairs down the road.
This course is available to all high school female students in grades 10-12
